Thai National ID Card

The Thai National ID Card is issued at the Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo to persons, holding a Thai citizenship in the event of expiration, damage or loss of the person’s current Thai National ID Card. First time applicants for Thai National ID Card must submit their application at any district office in Thailand. 

In order to apply for the Thai National ID Card, applicants are requested to present at the Royal Thai Embassy in person for biometric data collection and bring the following documents:  

  • In case of expiration
    • The current expired Thai National ID Card

  • In case of loss
    • a copy of a Thai National ID card or a Thai Passport
    • a change of name/surname certificate (if any)

Fees

No issuance fees for application, submitted within 60 days before or after the expiry of the current Thai National ID Card. Application for the new Thai National ID card with a validity of more than 60 days to the expiry date cannot be considered.

In case of damage or loss of the current Thai National ID Card: 100 NOK

Notes

  • Applicants must have been registered in the civil registration of Thailand and have had Thai National ID Card(s), not the first time applicants.

  • Applicants, holding an old version of Thai National ID card (issued before 1988) must also present a Thai Passport and a Thai House Registration.

  • Processing time for the Thai National ID Card is approximately 1 hour.
