On 3 November 2021, H.E. Ms. Karntimon Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, presented her Letter of Credence in the capacity of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to the Republic of Iceland with residence in Oslo to H.E. Mr. Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, President of the Republic of Iceland, at the Official Residence of the President of Iceland, Reykjavik.
On this occasion, the President of the Republic of Iceland commended the Thai community in Iceland for being diligent and hard-working and that they are a valuable part of the Icelandic society. Both sides agreed to further promote bilateral relations especially on tourism and fishery. Ambassador Karntimon Ruksakiati took this opportunity to express Thailand’s appreciation to the Icelandic Government for donating Pfizer vaccines to Thailand to fight against the COVID-19 which is true testament of friendship between Thailand and Iceland.
During her visit to Iceland, Ambassador Karntimon Ruksakiati also had bilateral meetings with H.E. Ms. Asta Valdimarsdottir, Secretary General of the Icelandic Ministry of Health, and Mr. Pétur Ásgeirsson, Acting Director General for Bilateral and Regional Affairs, Icelandic Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
