On 4 July 2025, Ambassador Nitivadee Manitkul, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, visited Trondeheim, Norway's old capital and the third largest city in Norway and paid a courtesy call on H.E Mr. Kent Ranum, Mayor of Trondheim. During the discussion, Ambassador Nitivadee expressed her intention to visit Trondheim upon her arrival in Norway since Trondheim was a city where His Majesty King Chulalongkorn or King Rama V visited 100 years ago. The King also took photos of the houses along the river by himself. The Mayor informed that he was so impressed with Thailand when he visited Thailand 30.years ago. He admired the country' s beautiful culture and tradition as well as the kindness and openness of the Thais. Both sides also agreed on further expansion of bilateral economic cooperation, increasing trade volume and investment as well as promote more technical cooperation by maximizing utilization of the agreed Thailand-EFTA sigmed last January.
