On 8 January 2026, H.E. Ambassador Nitivadee Manitkul attended the Grand Travel Awards 2026 in Oslo, together with Mrs. Patsalin Swetarat, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in Stockholm, and Mr. Peerapatra Puspavesa, Counsellor of the Embassy.

 

At the event, Thailand was selected to be the Best Tourism Destination 2026. In 2025, Thailand was also awarded with this prize; therefore, it marks Thailand second consecutive year of receiving this prestigious recognition.

 

In her remarks, Ambassador Nitivadee expressed her sincere appreciation to all who voted for Thailand. She also encouraged the audience to have more travels since the world's situation is uncertain. Thailand as the hub of traveling and aviation in Asia can offer convenient connections to other Asian countries. She also introduced Thai airways which can serve daily direct flights between Oslo and Bangkok.
