On 16 August 2025 Her Excellency Miss Nitivadee Manitkul, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway presided over the opening ceremony of the Thai Fair in Stavanger 2025 at Tanangerhallen. There event attracted more than 1,000 participants, including members of the Thai community and Norwegians from Stanvanger and nearby cities.
 
In her remarks, Ambassador Nitivadee congratulated the Thai community for their strong collaboration in successfully organising the fair. The Thai Fair in Stavanger 2025 provides an excellence platform to introduce Thailand, promote Thai products, and showcase Thai culture to Norwegian and international friends. This year’s fair was coincided with the 120th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Diplomatic Relations between Thailand - Norway. In the economic sphere, Thailand and Norway signed the Thailand - EFTA Free Trade Agreement in January 2025 — opening new opportunities for Thai products in the Norwegian market. On the cultural front, Thailand has nominated "Chud Thai" or Royal Thai Traditional Dress for UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list, with the review process scheduled for 2026.
 
The Thai Fair in Stavanger, now in its third year, was jointly organised by Thai Buddhist Association in Norway (Thai Buddhistsamfunnet i Norge), Thai Traditional Cloth Lovers Club, and the local Thai community. The Royal Thai Embassy has supported the event for the third consecutive year. This year’s programme featured cultural performances by Thai youth and community groups, fashion shows of Thai Royal Traditional Dress, booths offering authentic Thai food and products, a concert, and lucky draw activities — all warmly received by the enthusiastic audience.
